• How to shape a mouthguard:
  1. Boil water and pour it into a bowl (according to the manufacturer’s instructions).
  2. Place the mouthguard in the hot water for 30–60 seconds to soften it (it must not melt).
  3. Remove it and let it cool briefly.
  4. Place it in your mouth, bite firmly, and press it against your teeth and gums with your fingers. Create suction with your tongue and then allow it to set in cold water.
  
  A properly shaped mouthguard must fit securely, should not move, and must allow normal breathing. If it does not fit correctly, the process can usually be repeated.
